Guided personally by Master Calligrapher Yuuki Hasegawa, this exclusive experience transcends writing — it’s an artistic dialogue between ink, mind, and spirit.
When visiting Japan, many travelers seek something authentically cultural — yet most calligraphy lessons feel ordinary, focused only on copying strokes.
This experience is different. It’s not just about writing characters — it’s about entering the world of a contemporary Japanese artist.
Under the direct guidance of Yuki Hasegawa, a professional calligrapher known for blending tradition and modern art, you’ll discover the philosophy and emotion behind every brushstroke.
Each movement, each breath, becomes part of an intimate artistic dialogue — a moment of true cultural exchange.

We sometimes offer something a little unexpected…
“Drunken Calligraphy” (Suiken Shodō) is a unique, cultural experience
where you compare your calligraphy before and after enjoying a glass of sake.
How does your brush move when you’re focused and sober?
How does it change when you’re relaxed and a little tipsy?
It’s not an official program,
but if the timing is right, you might get to experience it!
This activity is offered irregularly. Please ask our staff for availability.
